Custom Orders

Custom pieces are our favourite part of the work. If we can make it, we will — happily.

What we love making

We love a good idea. Send us yours and if we feel we can do it justice, we'll take it on — that's the honest rule we work by.

That means things like:

• The same bonnet in your colours
• The same shape in a different fabric
• A piece sized to your head, smaller or larger than our standard fit
• Something built around a costume you already have
• Details mixed from two of our pieces into one
• And not only headpieces — collars, bows, capes, anything for the neck and shoulders

Send whatever you have: a description, a photo, a drawing on the back of an envelope, or a piece of the costume itself if you'd like us to match it.

What we don't make: gloves, knitwear, and full tailored costumes. That's different machines and a different craft, and we'd rather send you nothing than send you something we're not proud of.

How it works

1. Write to us with your idea.
2. We reply with what's possible, the price, and the date it would reach you.
3. If it all sounds right, we take payment and start.
4. Ten days later, door to door, it's yours.

Ten days is our usual turnaround including shipping. More elaborate pieces take longer — we'll always tell you the real date before you pay.

Price

Most custom pieces cost the same as the ones in the shop. If your piece needs a new pattern drafted or unusual work, it costs more — and you'll know the exact price before anything is made.

What to tell us

• The measurement around your head, just above the ears and across the forehead
• The colours you have in mind
• The date you need it by
• A photo of the costume it goes with, or a link to the piece you're starting from

Ordering during Halloween season

September and October are our busiest months. We still take custom orders then — just ask early, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can fit yours in.
